About US Common Core English
One-to-one online English tutoring for US Common Core students, building reading comprehension, grammar and clear writing.
We work on reading closely and answering questions with evidence from the text, on grammar, punctuation and vocabulary, and on planning and writing paragraphs, stories and short essays. Spelling and handwriting-to-typing habits are covered where they hold a child back.
It suits a child who reads but struggles to explain what they understood, who writes short or disorganised answers, or who just needs steady practice to feel confident.
Classes are one-to-one and online, with the same teacher every time. The first class is free and opens with a short assessment, a six-month plan is shared with you, and every session ends with a note home.
